Hi everyone, i'm steve, use to own a ep3 type-r (uk spec) but recently sold it and abit ???? what to get next, my mind keeps thinking Ek4 sir (Value for money over a type-r???) or ek9 type-r, few of my friends have dc2's uk spec's and there awesome but i'm not sure on them really either, test drove JDM EP3 few days ago, fast but is the ek9 better with its little beast of a lump?

any help you guys could give to clear my mind abit would be great, thanks
 
I think its pretty impossible for the B16B to out-impress the K20A. :eek:

But, if you soup it up, the revability could probably win you over. :D Cheaper and more options for modding, too.
 
There is no comparison between and EK9 and an EK4. Maybe the specs do not differ a lot in terms of hp and torque but the overall difference in performance is big if you consider that we are speaking about the same engines in displacement (1600cc). That extra 15 hp found in B16B is just as a small miracle!! EK9 and EK4 are totally two different cars. Improvements affected alsmost everything, to many to list now. If I were you and could afford the money, I would have only one thing in mind :D
 
EK4 SiR is a great car that can be made as fast as the EK9 without too much trouble, ive owned a few VTi/SiR and some are deffinatly as good, its down to how much you have and what you want mate, only you can decide and either car is awesome

I had an SIr DelSol that was as fast as my integra type r, and my ek4 vti/sir u can see on my youtube was as fast too

thanks for your input guys, mate who's drove one did say the ek9 was abit nutts.........found a nice ek4 sir with built in sav nav, cant seem to find an ek9 with one, ek4's can be modded nicely but quote me if im wrong its either type-r or nothing im guessing, wel its always been for me anyway, where's the best places on the net to fish for them in japan for a gud price guys?
 
hello! welcome to the forum, you can't compre and ek4 and a ek9 its a totally different car. EK9 is a car that can give you and excellent track day (just by using aftermarket brake pads) and can be good also as a daily drive.

It has a lot of potencial, since it's a 1600 cc with 185 hp, in it's class, there is no rivals, in my case i have to run against full race cars becauses i and way faster than 1600 cc cars at the track.

Owning three vti's two ek's one eg,and two ek9 there is no comparison ek9 all the way:D I do like my honda's:) I almost bought a ep3 type r before i got this ek9 ,test drove it nice exceleration and smooth , but v tec is almost blanked out don't get me wrong you can feel it nothing like the full on b16b engine:D :D you no when that comes!! B16B FOR THE WIN:nice:
 
thanks i'll ask him see what he has to offer, cheers dude, yeah i can see where you coming from here since all of my other friends have B16a's and b18c's and the vtec comes.............its like the thunder, ep3's a more smooth changeover not to raw or aggressive. you should try the new FN2 uk type-r what i load of rubbish-its more of a question where's the vtec GONE????? but it does seem to handle wayyyyyy better then my EP3, anyway think i need to test drive an ek9 since everyones been telling me there so nutts for what they are.

If you anywhere near county durham mate you can test drive mine no problem:nice: Just have to remember the b16b is only a 1.6 but certainly delivers the punch even on standard form,Mine is slightly modded unichip, aem cold air intake ,plugs, leads manifold etc pulls nice.The mods i have work well with the engine.
 
*Quick update*

Finally the time is here.........my ek9 is ready for collection :woot:

i bring the pocket rocket home tomorrow :D

once home i can get some better :pics: for you guy's, after that its time to go to work on it with the mod's as its competely standard at the mo.
