I am jsut about to order a full set of Hardrace bushes for my car to freshen everything up a bit, I was just wondering, how difficult is it to fit all these bushes? Do I need any special tools or can I press them in with a vice/G clamp or the like?

Would anyone have any other suggestions about any other bits I should do to freshen and stiffen everything up a bit whilst I'm at it? Drop links etc?

Cheers in advance guys

I fitted all mine myself using a socket set as drifts and a big bench vice, just be careful to press them in the correct amount etc so all the bushes are aligned correctly and can't go far wrong

I've replaced ALL other suspension components, inner and outer track rods / lower ball joints / camber arms front and rear / ARB drop links / polly ARB mount bushes, got to say the car does feel very tight to drive, I would suggest if your budget goes that far then do it all :nice:

Thanks Steven, I was kind of hoping you would post on this as I'm sure I saw a similar post from you when you were working on your car :))

Were did you order all the other parts from? (inner and outer track rods / lower ball joints / ARB drop links / polly ARB mount bushes) Honda/Lings?

Which camber arms do you use?

Cheers for the info chap :nice: :thanks:

Bushes - DOHC-garage off US ebay, although DMS are doing these bush kits now and hold stock of them

ARB bushes - Fronts are energy suspension ones, ordered direct from the US shop, rears are proflex ones ordered from motorsportworld

ARB drop links / inner and outer track rods - ordered from Honda, you will cry when you see the price although garanteed they will outlast cheaper alternatives, I replaced the steering rack boots again with genuine items as they were looking a bit perished

Lower ball joints - My car is fairly low so run extended buddyclub items purchased from Japshop

Camber arms - run SPC ones front and rear, fronts are the forged aluminium ones that do castor too, can order direct from Eibach, they are good to deal with, the front arms are ££££ though but superior to any other camber arms.......

Make sure to get a full Geometry check once everything is fitted :)

AWESOME! Thanks for all the info, really apprecite the help :D

This is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do. I'd say it cost a pretty penny, but definitely worth it! How much did it cost you all in? I'll keep in mind that you did the labour yourself.

EDIT: Why only lower ball joints?

And, If doing this bit by bit, what order would you do it in? track and tie rods, ball joints and arb links first? Or all bushes first?
