when i start my car in the morning,my handbrake light stays on for a while, and then go's off.
if i put my foot on the brake it will go off,but when i take it off the brake it go's back on.but go's off completely after about 10 mins of starting it
.tonight, the lights been coming on and off itself :/

wtf is this ****? could it be a sensor or something...before you ask the obvious, yes! the handbrake is down fully!

The same light also warns about low fluid. If your pads are low it's most likely this as the fluid in the resevoir goes down with your pads. Either pour a tiny bit of fluid into the resevoir or change your pads. If you change your pads the fluid will go back up by itself when you push the pistons back in.

^^ exactly what he say. same thing happen to my with a toyota pick up and i change the brake pads and problem solve

would this be the same if the handbrake light stays on all the time lads.. My handbrake light is constantly on, never goes off like.....??

Yes it would be. Had it in my 9 and couldn't figure out the problem. Then upgraded the pads an light gone :)

have the pads thrown in the back seat the last 3 weeks, must go about putting them in the weekend so and see will that fix it...

Definitely sounds like your brake pads are worn and in need of changing. No need to add brake fluid (since it is a CLOSED system except for a leak) as this will result in the fluid overflowing the reservoir when the pads are changed. Get it sorted soon. Enjoy your 9!

Yup i had this, light was flickering when i was hard accelerating as the fluid was low and kept dropping below triggering the light. Check/replace your pads so the piston retracts and pushes the fluid up to a normal level or top up where needed.
