Handbrake light staying on

with the mornings gettin that little bit cooler my handbrake light is staying on until the car heats up. only happening again recently. not since the winter has it done this but wanna get it sorted now.

any1 any ideas??
 
Check the switch on the hand brake to see if it dry in saide the actual switch
 
check the brake fluid levels? sure theres a sensor in the bottle and if its low the lights comes on :nice: well it did in my eg6 anyway

+1 the same thing happened to me and it was the break fluid that was a bit low. after i changed it it stop happening
 
You should never have to top up brake fluid. Its low because the pads are worn - its a low pad warning system. When you replace the pads the level of fluid will go back up.
 
as said above mate its an indicatior that your pads are getting low and will need changing.

ive had to top up my fluid before as light was on and pads and discs were fine,surely if the car is driven hard alot its going to burn a drop of fluid now and again

agree my brakes were fine aswell :nice: but surely your not going to run about with the light on and may not have money to replace them right away, so if thats the case id top it up bud :)
