gearbox rebuild with longer 5th

as I will need to change the noisy bearings in the gearbox im thinking of doing a full rebuild this time with all bearings seals and carbon syncros
also change the 5th gear I can get the gears from the ls box which is 0.714
BUT can I use the 5th from a d14 box? which is 0.702 I think
also will the syncro kit for a b series still work with the d series 5th?
is there anything els I need?

why not use a 5th gear from the b18b motors? its common swap here in south africa 1-4 is the oem b16a box, with the 5th coming out of a b18b box so for highway cruising its perfect.!
 
I have read it a while back that I can use some of the d series internals but can't seek to find them now,
The ls 5th gear is the b18b one I thinks, just Easyer to get the d series boxes here
