My syncro in 3rd gear is on it's way out, getting a crunch when I change gear a little to fast (a decent shift) and pretty much ll the time above 6k. I've not changed the gearbox oil yet, but, to be perfectly honest I don't think the oil will be the problem, just a worn syncro.

Just wondering what my options are? I'd consider myself pretty mechanically competant so i'd have no quarms rebuilding the box myself, but any info on doing this would be excellent. Is there such a thing available? A guide so to speak.

Also wondering where I can get myself a rebuild kit from? Would possibly go for the carbon syncro's from m factory, but it's the rest of the stuff i'll need

Thanks guys!

you can get the honda manual off the web. as for parts and proceedures i'll wait on those that have experience to tell you.

have you looked at getting a final drive for it as would be a good time to change it all.I got new bearings and final drive in my box, cant wait to drive it lol

Just having this discussion! I'd like a 4.7 that's for sure but I would want to think about swapping out my 5th for something a little more comfortable on the motorway, but then I have the problem of silly gear spacing on 4th to 5th. Maybe just B18c for the extra torque instead of shorter gearing :nice:

A 4.785 FD into the S4c/J4d S80's is one of the best gearbox upgrades out there , I would really consider it If I were you , b16b or b18c :nice:
