Been trying to find a genuine gear gaiter for my car, looked on ebay and found one for £15 but the comments about the fitment say they dont fit properly.

Anyone know where to get a genuine gear gaiter from? Preferable a red stitch one??

Thanks

I have bought a new gear gaiter, the one dan posted! back with the red stitching! :nice:

The problem I got is that my gear nob does not screw on and finish in the right place, i.e. the gears engraved on the top dont face the right way! This is annoying as it looks stupid! :angry2:

Is there any way of getting it to sit right? Someone told me there should be a nut that screws on underneath that stops it at the right place but there definitley is not one on mine.

Any ideas? Please!

you need the nut, infact my mate justin has a spare genuine gearknob nut, ill ask him if we can send it on to ya

That would be brilliant mate! Let me know if your mate wants anything for it, it would make my day if I could sort that out! :nice::)

Thanks Olly!

i think you can buy the nut from honda, i had spare 1 but gave it way to someone in same situation as yourself

That happened to me..

I was going to get my gear knob re-tapped, but i took the knob off and the nut and put PTF tape around the last few threads and put the nut back on and the gear knob then positioned it the right way :nice:

It is solid now, and isnt the wrong way round lol

I did have the nut which is weird.

Right then I got my new gear gaiter through in the post.

Was looking at fitting it and was a bit confused lol.

Anyone fitted one before, any step by step guides on what to unscrew etc??!!

Thank you!

Managed to get round to putting on my new gear gaiter so I thought I would share some pics, here they are:
