Hi all.

I realise I'm new to the site but I have had a quick look on the search and can't really find a lot on this specific topic. Most of it comes up with forged pistons ect but not a lot about cranks.

basically, as I said in my newbie post, I've got a b18c4 and am looking to build it into a strong turbo setup.
I do drive fairly hard and want my car to be reliable. It will be used as a daily on low boost but I'd like the option of a high boost map for some serious power.
I have darton sleeves to go in the block and plan on acl bearings for the crank.

I've seen forged cranks online in America but the ones ive seen don't specify the 18c4.

Eagle Forged 4340 Crank B18 B18C B18C1 B18C5 1834331772 [1834331772] - $599.99 : Real Street Performance Engine Parts, Pistons Rods Cams Valvetrain and More

This for example.

The main questions I have are;

1) Will this fit my engine
2) What's the most power you can get reliably from a standard crank, would it be worth getting a forged one?

Thanks in advance and I do apologise if this had been covered I just couldn't find it on the search.

Cheers:nice:

That crank should be able to fit your engine yes.

Standard crank - iv heard of builds up to 600hp using standard crank with no issues. I'm using standard crank with ACL bearing and running max of 451hp on high boost, not an issue.

1.2 bar and 451hp @ flywheel

Usually run it at 0.9 bar because its a big easier to handle on the road lol haha.

I want power figures like this! Lol! What powers low boost mate? And how long have you been running it turbo'd?

Cheers.

Stock crank is better than the eagle one you posted a link for, all the eagle stuff is made in china and finished in the states. Stock crank will put up with anything you throw at it.

Ahhh right. Thanks for that mate.

Is there a better aftermarket crank or should I just use standard?

Cheers

you will be fine using stock crank, what power are you aiming for anyway?

I'm gonna make a request to an admin to make turbo advise STRICTLY only available to rs250nut and rich777.
