right after a recent bump my ek4 needs a new rack, i picked up a rack and subframe from iceman now i just need to fit it, i managed to remove the rack from the subframe but i had to remove the drivers side inner trackrod to get the clearance required to remove from the sub frame,

1. is it possible to remove the rack from the subframe without removing the inner rod ends

2.i have a refurbished rack for an ej9,my plan was to remove the inner rod ends from this as they are new but they are not removable ,how the hell do you fit this to a car if you need to remove them to get it in the subframe

3. is there a guide available for rack change in a civic as i do not want to remove my subframe from the car and a guide would make this daunting job a little easier

thanks in advance

I believeyou are best to turn to full lock in one direction, gives you enough room to get the rack out without having to remove stuff

Alternatively unbolt the rear engine mount and drop the subframe out

as ste says turn full lock in 1 direction and can just be wiggled out

magic, cheers people,i tried turning it full lock in one direction with the inners attached and still could not get it out but ill try again :)

The 96-00 haynes manual has a guide, got to go to work now but if u still havent done it by tonight, ill try write up something that might help :)
