Ok cars finally gonna get moving- been going through a lot of problems and i neglected my hatch...i know i know shame on me. Its going into the paint shop (lil bday present from myself to well myself haha). After it gets out im finally going to swap out the suspension i have now. My friend just just installed Ksport Coilovers on his 240, 34 way adjustable- camber,heigh, shock stiffness. My question is ive searched a few sites and every kit has a different spring rate- or one of two...i think. Im new to springrates but this is what ive found

front = 560 lb/in rear = 336 lb/in

front = 13kg/mm rear = 6.2kg/mm

those were on 2 different sites. I remember reading the stock ek9 type r spring rate is what...250 front/rear. Would this be WAY to harsh for daily driving? I mean it will see the track from time to time after i get the motor done. But im guessing higher the rate- the harsher it'll be correct? As far as paint ill post some pics of before-after. should be done by the 10th :)

Ksport sucks, thats all you need to know. if your looking for a budget coilover check out PIC or even F2. i refuse to even advise you on Ksporsts there that bad, trust me.

PIC is the best coilover for you're money hands down!

And those 2 rates you gave for the k-sports are roughly
13k front, 6k rear
10k front, 6k rear

The rates shouldn't variate more than 2k between front and rear, such as 10k front 8k rear. A more race spring rate will be higher and something like 12k front, 14k rear rates. (higher rear to counteract understeer)
I have PIC 10k-f 8k-r and the ride is perfectly comfortable, I could have gone stiffer with no problem. 12k-f 10k-r would have even been still tolerable for the street. With PICs you can choose from low to very high spring rates, its not a set # and they have extremely good customer service.

i agree, i even sent him an email telling him to join the forum and post up some for sale threads :nice:

thanx guys. its weird a friend just installed this on his 240 and it doesn't seem bad. some other guy put these on his hatch along with the ksport lca's. For those of you with PIC suspension- can you post pics of the height u have ur car set to? Im not really lookin to slam my car- i thought about it but eh i just want it to be ready for when i start taking it out on the trake. thanx for explaining the spring rate thing a lil better. the price for the PIC setup isn't bad- thanx again.
