Think i have a rear wheel bearing away :( Never had a wheel bearing go before so don't have a clue what they sound like. Basically its pissing down atm been slowly through alot of lying water, then i noticed after a while i had a lot of "road noise" turned the car off and let it roll down the motorway, basically sounds like tyre/road noise but alot louder!

Not had chance yet as "its pissing down" to jack car up and check for play. Any other suggestions if there isn't play?

They easy to swap? and cheapest fastest place to get them? Got croft with HOT on friday, bloody typical :(

just had chance between rain showers, checked all four wheels no play what so ever no weird noises when the wheels are spinning either :/

If it a rear bearing it aint cheap unfortunatly, my right rear has gone and you need a whole hub apparently to sort the bearing :( when you turn left then right does the drone quieten down a bit? An which side? Mine is quieter when turning left an its my right rear thats gone

it sounds like a whiring noise on mine but has got alot worse recently so presume mine has perished an if yours has gone i expect it will do same :( does it sound the same as your issue?

It's the same in a straight line, left or right makes no difference. It doesn't sound like a loud whining bearing. Just sounds like really load road noise :/

Might be the start of it goin as mine has got worse as time goes on

:( i was gutted when found out got to be whole hub replaced doesnt affect handling however when it goes makes a hell of a noise

Recently done mine I never realised how bad it was until fitted a new one. Think I paid about 140 quid delivered for one.
After I fitted the new one it sounded like I had soundproofed the whole car.

what did yours sound like when it was going? Did you have loads of play before changing it?

You dont realy need to changes the the hub you just change the bearing and to take a bearing out its best to use a press machine

I've replaced both bearings on the right side of my car, the back one went first there wasn't really any play from the bearing just a rumbling noise. I think it will be a bearing on you car Steve.

Cheers mate, al try work out what side it is. I read its easier just to change the hub which i don't mind tbh
