hi every1, i have a ek9 and i am in england, my bro lives in dubai thats where i am nw. his friend has just imported a honda civic from japan it has a b16 bottom end and has b18 head, its got a vafc on it and spoon clutch and fly wheel, its also got itb's onit aswell and its pushing 260bhp from n/a. do u guys think i shud get rid of my engine and get this 1 or keep da orginal engine im not sure wat to do...?

Stay with your engine, can you post more info about that setup? 260 bhp out of a b16 and n/a doesn't seem right to me

i've seen 260 been gotten from b18c, get a mechanic to check the engine n if its all ok, swap definitey. R u suure u don't mean b18 bottom end??? then i would well belive 260!!!

260bhp is 221whp, thats nothing impossible. ive seen 230whp cars running blox spec B cams!

nah, B16A and B18C heads are different. I can't remember how but the B16A head is supposed to flow better or something. I know a guy with a B18C5 bottom end (USDM ITR block) with B16A2 head mated to a B16A2 tranny in his LS Integra. I don't know what power he's puttin down but that SOB is stout nonetheless.

Yeah, sounds like you got it backwards. A B18C block with a B16A head with mods (cams, cam gears, etc.) sounds more probable for puttin down that kind of power.

b16a/b
b18c (USDM integra GSR)
b18c (JDM integra TYPE R)
b18c5 (USDM integra TYPE R)

now the b16a/b cylinder head is the same as the b18c (JDM TYPE R) and the b18c5 (USDM integra TYPE R). the one that is different is the b18c (USDM GSR), i dont know if this motor is in other countries also or what its called in those other countries, but thats the one that is not the same the b18c (USDM integra GSR)

first of all, erm hi to you all guys. My first reply here. I've seen vids of ek9's with 290 hp, but they had almost everything modded. camshafts, ports, pistons, the whole cylinder head, even the crank was changed. to top it all throttle bodies and I really dont know what they did to the manifold. I'm trying to find the vid.....had it here somewhere.

whoa, hold up. I'm pretty sure the B16A and B16B heads are different. Infact I think the B18C(5) head is different from both of them as well. Now the difference isn't huge between the B16B and the B18C(5) but the B16A is different from what I've read.

techy dont make me ban your ass :naughty: lol, j/k but you are wrong. all 3 heads you mention are the exact same casting, on the type R they have a mild port on the intake, dual valvesprings exhaust and intake and bigger cams, but the heads themselves are the exact same.
