Hello people

I am keen to maintain my car to the highest level,

I know it is due a service and please excuse me for sounding somewhat simple but what do I need to change, do, alter and lubricate?

I have done an oil and oil filter change following the advice you all gave,

I am getting new tyres and tracking done today as it is needed

What is next and where is best to get the bits

Suggestions are always good if they are based on knowledge, but I'm sure that whatever we say/suggest it wouldn't necessarily be correct or enough as your mechanic will take a close look to see what your car really needs....:D
 
yeah i agree with manos, there is no way for us to know what shape your car is in, its best to have someone with experience service the car when needed, but the customer must be educated as well or sometimes mechanics can be crooks.

The issue of the gearbox oil is treated in a different way than the engine oil. Whereas the engine oil HAS TO be changed regularly without delay(preferably a non-synthetic), the gear shift hesitation and/or noise should be the indication and the time to replace the gearbox oil :drive:

I agree, also Mr. Spoon said, that if your car is a "Track only" car, you should change also the gear box oil when you change the engine oil :nono:

thanks folks

it is a teg i am running now, i have a very trusted mechanic that i go to all the time he has been doing my mom and dads car for years, an old honda specialist works there as well he does cam belts etc. top bloke

i will listen to what you all say and take it for a service, i have had the oil changed and the gear box oil topped up,

will see what he has to say,

i will post some proper photos soon, want to know what you think about my car
