I bought an ek9 front and rear lip to paint and fit to my ek3 pre-facelift, fitted the front a week or so ago no problem, however when I came to fit the rear yesterday it fits the bumper fine and snug but at each wheel arch it overruns about half and inch, any ideas? It's all OEM Honda, may I have been sent a facelift rear lip by mistake? Some pictures to illustrate below...

Any help appreciated...

If im not mistaken an ek3 wont come with holes along the underside of the bumber for the lip to fasten to like the jorans/type r's come with so if the lip isnt fastend tight along the bumper it will stick out at the arch. If you fasten it all along the lip it should fit more. snug.

Could be wrong but i noticed my 9 had holes along the bumper wen i toom the lip off wich my ek4 and old ej didnt have.

Mine doesnt have the hols, I was just going to drill some, however it does fit snug all along the bumper, just sticks out at each arch, that won't change by fitting it any other way, its just too big and I have no idea why, does it fit only with mudflaps in the way?...

It looks too low in the first pic, its meant to be flush over where the bumper curves inwards

Ok, tried a few times with another person but will give it another go...

I don't know about the EK3 but the USDM EJ Bumper this also happens. So here we have to buy a real EK9 bumper to fit snug. EK3 Might be same as EJ??

Confusing with the ej's, ej9 is a 3 door hatch like the EK's, but stent the other ej's 4 or 2 doors?...

Are both pieces (bumper and lip) OEM? I also have a rear EJ9/EK4 bumper, but the lip fits fine with me.

edit: seeing your pictures, the lip is installed to low...

yes all OEM and yes have had a quick refit yesterday and if I hold it up higher it does seem to fit, will have another blast when I have more time and another pair of hands, need to do some other work so think i'll drop the rear bumper off and fit it all on the bench, be able to drill the holes for fitting then.

thanks for the help and am loving the colour of your car Goosse...
