EK9 rear lights


so u also extended ur fog light to passager side just to make them cooler when fog is on:)
good idea i will do it too since i got two bi-bulb

i dont have to have fogs but i agree otherwise it looks weird with one side brighter than the other side. shot for the help again. got the bulb holders yesterday gonna start on doing this tomorrow hopefully.
 
I've been looking to do this for a while as the 'red' nail varnished converted reverse light is a bit weak tbh.

Which bulb holder do I need to find from the scrappys, is it the one out of the top of the cluster or elsewhere?

the top hold is the one you need to do double lights for the bottom one(fog+side).
I did mine yesterday. simply for the right side lamp. I swapped the whole ek4 wiring loom into the ek9 light, coz the loom inside ek9 right lamp only has 5 metal pin but ukdm has 6, i think the extra one is for the fog light.
 
ah right, I was a little confused as the holder in the pics is different to the holder from the top of an EK9 light.

will have to go and see if the scrappys still have that EK3 I've slowly pillaged
 
As Justin said, it's the top holder (brake+sidelight). I was ok using my existing loom as I just used the wiring that was already there for the under-bumper fog for the fog in the clusters

hey man, so i did the conversion over the the weekend. very simple to doreally gotta say... anyways, 1 thing i noticed.. the top brake light is a 5/21W (lights on its @ 5W, brake pedal pushed its @ 21W) bulb and the bottom bulb i got is a 21W bulb.. so when lights on, the bottom is brighter than the top half until the pedal is pressed then they are both the same.

Im sure that its not supposed to be like this? AFAIK the lights sould both be @ the same brightness, then when the pedal is pressed the top section is brighter?

i am going to the hardware store tomorrow to see if i can find some 5W bulbs... otherwise it looks tops :) shot for the help.
 
Did you use the brake/tail light holder from another civic? If so then you'll need the double filament bulb that's used for the brakelight and tail light.

If not then just get a 5W bulb (like you said :nice:)

no i didnt, ill see if the shops got some bulbs later today.
 
so i got the 5w bulbs today wat a mission but will set everything upsoon and take some pics to help this the thread.
