bought a ek9 for a rally car build , bought it off a lad who had not used it because he has not passed his test yet , just sat in his garage , started striping it for cage fitting.

Always thought an ek9 would make a great rally car will be keeping an eye on this. :) what class are you looking at running in?

just doing tarmac events and hope to be ready for my local event , abingdon carnival , will be running in class b 1600 ,

Wow this looks great, please keep us updated on the prep you're doing. Did you do the cage yourself?

one recommendation for rallying, change to an eg subframe, wishbones and steering rack! if you damage a rack on a stage you'll have it changed in 15 minutes with a eg subframe or an hour with an ek one! haha

What dampers are you going to use?

Nearly looks too clean to be a rally car, good work though! U spray it yourself too?

Look forward to seeing you out at abingdon, ill be there for the 1st time this year

Not thought to much about dampers yet but most people run proflex '

Proflex are very good, another make to think about is by xtrax. I have them in a EG civic rally car and they are very good, cheaper than proflex also (just...)

The xtrax are extremely good over jumps

hi wooks , yeh be good to have chat , what exhaust manifold you using iam having issues with ground clearance , need to get manifold up higher so think i need a 4 2 1 instead of a 4 1 dc sports ive got on at mo, maybe able to swap it for a 4 2 1 with someone,

At the moment im using either a toda tep tegiwa manifold ( altho thats on the road car at the moment) and a 5zigen, both 4-2-1, and fit very very well on the type r block, unfortunatly im using a b16a2 so ground clearence isnt as good, but alot better than a dc 4-1 would be.
Im using Selholm suspension from dmrr, and its superb, very comfortable as I use the car for work lol, but on a stage the harder you push the car just comes alive, totally predictable and effortless to drive.
