Hi guys ive recently bought a big project. Ive been around Hondas for years now and basically owned one of every shape variation, yet this is my first nine. Im not a mechanic by trade just self taught but also have a few close mates who are mechanics helping on the build (not that there needed). I wasnt really in the market for another Honda to be honest as felt the need for something RWD or AWD boost, but then I came across this ek9 which looked a little sorry for itself yet has all the right ingredients to be a amazing car. So I thought long and hard ( approx 2 hours) and I phoned the guy up and said Id take it off his hands and finish the project he had once started.
Quick run down on the car.
Its a Ek9 racebase shell so came with clear glass, manual windows, standard ej9 seats and steering wheel. Not sure on what else. This is all ive been told anyway.
It was apparently raced in Japan although has no documents to back this up there is tell tale signs like the foam filled archs extra seam welding and best of all a bigger clutch pedal and a custom accelerator which has a addon welded on maybe to improve heel and toe action.
Its on 80,000km or as near as.
Its unregisterd on our soil and has never been used in this country.
It was a breaker who brought it in and broke for parts yet sold the shell on due to how clean it is
Theres no rust what so ever even the heat shield looks brand new
Its got a 6 point cusco bolt in cage
came with a b18c and a rebuilt S4c LSD gearbox
Theres also other mods etc
Im after quite a few bits for this car to return it to a roadlegal state and to use as a daily drive! The hunt for these parts is on and work has already begun!
The old owner resprayed the bay and started a brake line tuck which I will maybe complete depending how frustarted I get. The rear lines will now be run inside the car with a willwood proportioning valve (supplied with the car). I did debate this for ages and thought I may aswell do it while im here.
Anyway enough said heres some pics. Excuse the green lip, the bumpers do need spraying and so does the lip, they are non original items to the car.
work started stripping down ready for undersealing
old owner already started
rear trailing arms removed as going to get brand new bushs (dont need doing but when in rome)
So thats it so far waiting on some funds for new rear arbs and new rear discs and pads, also Hel brake lines to come.
