Hey guys, im getting Rota GT3's 16x7 for my ek9. I want the car really low, for looks more than performance. Are these wheels a good choice? Should i get 15'' instead?

Also to get really, really low what parts would you reccomend? (I am on a pretty tight budget so keep it realistic) Should I roll arches, cut springs? Again its for looks and not performance....
Any help/opinions appreciated
Thanks in advance!

just....why? dont cut springs whatever you do. have arches rolled, some coilovers with camber arms so you can keep the wheels in best position possible, but either way really low your gonna make it a very harsh and not great handling ride

Kinda defeats the point of a performance orientated car like the ek9.. Whatever you do DONT cut those springs.. its goina cause you alot more damage in the long run. Just get some coilovers and slam it. Look up which kits drop the lowest (Buddyclub??), probably wont be the cheapest option but if you want a civic that low just for looks, sell it for an ek 4 and put the coileys on it =P.

 sell it and get yourself a 30 shite if you want looks more than performance. you'll be the coolest guy about! all you got to do is get yourself a laguna splitter and cut two coils off the front and drop er three nicks at the back. hell while your at it cut the bump stops out too then you'll be rolling on the ground and it'll look the tits! :naughty::angry2:

please dont cut the springs on your ek9 :(

i could supply you with a spring kit, or coilovers if your budget can push? a few good coilover kits available without bursting the bank and will greatly improve what the ek9 already is.

they handle great, please dont cut

yes just buy some new springs mate, cuttings a terrible idea...

couldnt imagine having an ek9 just for looks but hey!

This..............

Just sell it, Buy an EK4 and with the £££££'s left over buy the modifications to have it "mega lowz" and have some cash left over,

Having an EK9 Super low just for looks is a crime. Will Destroy a truly great handling car. And imo Super Low looks **** anyway, You can go low without ruining how it handles and itl still look great. Just don't be OTT

hahaha

On a serious note why would you cut the springs, when you can obviously afford the car, and more surprisingly the insurance in Ireland :( why not just work harder and once you got money just buy coilovers, heck they cant be that expensiv if I have them on my ej9 lol

Personally, on a EK9 having SuperLow coilovers does feel a bit wrong.
The SuperLow coilovers will work, and the car will drive fine...
But performance had to be reduced in order to achieve the level of "lowness" people ask for, which is around 120mm or so "Max".

And to be honest, no one have yet to even drive the car with the SuperLow coilovers set to the lowest setting, as the car simply isn't "drivable" at that ride height.

The standard Zeta-S and Zeta-R will still do -80mm, which are plenty for most people needs.
And the coilovers are design for performance in mind, just like the EK9 was design to do.

... And please Please PLEASE do not Cut your springs...
There is really no need to do something like that in this day and age... this is now 2010 you know!

Please don't. The car is already low and hard enough for bad Irish roads.

If your on a tight budget anything your going to do will spoil the handling as to lower the car properly you need camber adjustment.

The car from the factory is as far as i can tell over the past three weeks driving an ek9 is perfect. (i borrowed my brothers ek9)

Its actually upset me that i own an ek4 and spent way too much on it already.

THANKS EVERYONE!
Just realised how much of a waste lowering it that much would be a huge mistake! You'll be happy to hear I'm no longer a COMPLETE IDIOT and I'll be sticking to performance and handling over looks from now on :)
Thanks again for anyone who contributed (other than those who were ''cool'' enough to leave a sarcastic comment).
