EK9 headlights (Dutch problem)

Dear all,

I have a question regarding EK9 headlights. My car needed to go for the Dutch yearly check in which my headlights failed to pass. According to my dealer, this is because of the Japanese / English headlights which are different in set-up compared to European cars. The dealer wanted to install 'standard' civic headlights, but these are obviously very different from the dark glass pre-facelift Ek9. Maybe anyone knows a solution for this problem, this would be very much appreciated!!!

Best regards,

Possibly get a set of European spec head lights and swap the lens (clear part) over. That's the only way I can possibly thinly of

change the headlights for lhd headlights for test and then put ek9 back on, the beam pattern on ek9 lights is designed for rhd cars and rhd roads

Thanks for the response of both of you!

@ek9ctr, I was also thinking in that direction, but I am wondering if this is really possible? Is the lens (clear part) really separable from the rest?

Looking forward to your replies! Many thanks in advance!

another extreme option would be too split both sets of lights and put the dark ek9 internal housing in the other lights to replace the sliver housing? Its a right pain to split the lights but at least then they would be set for a LHD car? and it would save you swapping lights all the time and getting them set for testing.

Hi mate. Yes it is. You just got to heat the headlight units up to melt (?) The sealant around the lens and then they'll just quite easily unclip off :nice:
