Hi

Looking to replace both right and left Driveshafts for my 98 EK9.

Searching for oems resulted in limited options. I came across this eBay ad, works these oem "non ABS" for an EK9 with ABS?

Thanks

It will work and you can drive perfectly fine. However, you will not have ABS because the ABS driveshafts have the toner ring at the end of each driveshaft for the sensor to detect.

Still having a hard time finding the Honda OEM parts number for EK9 driveshaft left and right.

Checked this forum in the all parts listed thread and driveshaft is not listed.

My concern is buying these ones off eBay (non ABS) and there ends up being is a fittment issue.

Thanks

Confirming a OEM parts number will make me more confident dropping some serious money for these eBay parts.

Complete driveshafts for EK9 with ABS:
44010-ST7-J71
44011-ST7-J71

Whats actually wrong with your current ones? You can readily buy aftermarket CV joints or other components.

Thanks Terry.

The boots have ripped leaking grease. I figured it would be a good time to have my shop replace the driveshafts but finding new OEMs are virutally impossible at this point.

Anyone have recommendations for aftermarket driveshaft? I am firm believer in buy nice or buy twice. Willing to pay for good quality.

They're discontinued, thats why you can't find them.

If you just have torn boots, you can either get replacement boots that require hammering the CV joints off
OR
you can buy universal boots that stretch over the CV joints.

Part number for boot kit is 44018-ST7-C03. Thats the Honda number, but several aftermarket options will work also. Doesn't need to be OEM in my opinion. Its rubber at the end of the day and will get replaced again down the line. I recently had CV grease being tossed around the inside of my wheel. Got the stretch type boot and works fine.

The downside of hammering the CV joints out is they might not want to go back in. At that point, you'll be looking at replacing the joints as well.

Thanks for the tip and part number. Makes sense. I'm going to seriously look into just replacing the boots.
