sorry to bump an old thread but im really desperate for some, even from any ek hatch facelift (as long as its got the elec controlled heaters)

As ive finaly got myself a dash, but i cant do anything much with the wiring as i dont know what is doing what, its mainly the dials and the heater console/matrix wiring i need.

Thanks

Oh just thought as well, theres a 2 or 3 plugs on my dash loom that where not conencted to naything - just wondered if i get pics maybe someone with a facelift could tell me what they plug into? maybe optional extras or something - just like to know is all :)

thanks

check:

hondatech.info: Honda service manuals

A lot of honda service manuals. The one from civic EK is on there. And it has the electrical schemes of the heater controls.

By the way, are you doing a 99-00 climate control swap?

cheers for that but they only have the 97 wiring, which i have already.

Ive made good progress on just testing out all the wiring, taken me 3 hrs so far but im getting there, my problem is i can test where wires go to, but i have little to no idea what each wire does! more guess work :)

On another note a question - when you EK9 munkees turn your hazard lights on, do the turn signals on the cluster flash? as my facelift wiring has no wire from the hasard switch to the cluster for lights.

Odd

the extra connector between the console and cluster is to power the clock that isnt there in the EK9 :nice:

Right well heres the 3 plugs im confused about:

Plug one (brown and gray/black stripe):

Which came out in the drivers foot well.

Plug two (orange, gray/black stripe/brown):

which is near the grounding/earth point so maybe something to do with the heater matrix? (i.e long shot maybe its where the rear demister plugs back into the dash loom?)

Plug Three (orange, brown):

This is where plug three routed to which is confusing as its just a blank plug cover for a dash mounting bolt but i dunno:

any ideas thoughts etc, muchly welcomed :)

No, there is a workshop manual of civic's 96 --> 2000

The electrical scheme's for heater/climate controls for a facelift civic (with the 3 knobs, instead of the slider) is 100% sure in that manual.
this is the one:

http://downloads.hondatech.info/Auto/Manuals/Civic/Ab0VE.Civic%20EJ6,%20EJ7,%20EJ8%20(96-00)%20Service%20Manual.zip

I have done a climate control swap too (on a LHD EJ9, 1.4i) and I did it like this:
There is an "extra" wiring harness that connects the big harness from the car, with the wiring harness from the heater control.
That extra harness from a '97 is different than a '99. I just bought a new one from a '99.
Then I got a temperature control motor from a '97 CRV (is the same as from a civic), an extra relay, and a '99 heater resistor.
This all plugs in on the new wiring harness.

The only things I had to rewire was the rear window defroster switch, and the hazard switch.
The rear window defroster was easy, because it was only 1 wire that I had to route different, I beleive it was a light green one.
then the hazard switch, I just had to change the wires, because the plug from a '97 switch was a little different then a '99 switch.

Then off course, I changed the plastic air ducts in the center of the dashboard, because they are different. That's easy

That was pretty much all I had to do. Off course, my car was a european civic, not an EK9, so I'm not 100% sure if it will be the same with you, but I guess it won't be that different ??

Anyway, If you might have some questions, I would be happy to help you out.

Good luck with it! :nice:

my cars an EG3 mate, everythings diffrent, gotta take the angle grinder to the chassi to get the ek9 dash to fit
