EK4 Track Car

I now have an ENGINE .... needs tarting up a bit though .....

and all these goodies from tegiwa ... i asked for black wheel nuts like but whatever.

Just read this start to finish, a lot of hard graft has gone into this. Did you consider getting the whole shell acid dipped to get it back to bare metal?

I kind of wish I'd removed all the underseal from mine now, its meant to weigh a lot.

What are you planning for the sunroof panel?

thanks mate i did concider it actually but thaught it wouldnt be worth it. will do it niext time i strip her down though.

underseal saves massive weight was about 25kg's on this with about 30 kg's of other random crap you just don't need. there are so many metal wire supports and crap like that that well you just really don't need and the engine mounts probs save 15kg's on they're own.

sunroof pannel i've got a bung being deliverd OEM fit fiberglass pannel.

Presumably this isn't something Honda (Japan?) do?

Some people have said they've tried to fit bungs but have had problems with these leaking. I'm not really sure if this is because they're buying crap products or fitting a large FRP/plastic/fibreglass panel inside a metal roofskin just wont work?

The roof skin is a bit of a nightmare as it can stretch/compress with changes in temperature, what were you thinking on using to seal in the fibreglass panel?

I was going to either find a roof skin from a tin top or weld a sheet metal in there, the latter could be a total PITA though.

going to use the same stuff you use to glue a windscreen in should flax enough for the roof ... the glass one was stuck in with that and never leaked ... just dumbass here broke it ...

oh QSB interior wheel. same as OMP basicly it's solid tried bending it ... as good as any other wheel for the price

Paint looks great, where did you find the plug for the rear windscreen wiper?

Think I'd paint the grille surround same colour as the car or maybe even green?! If its not genuine and you cant separate the surround think Id just cut out the mesh with a dremel before painting. Would be a few grams saved.

i actually like the grill being black for now. also the rear window bung is somthing i found at work. loads of cars have them to plug up holes i just happend to find one that fitten the rear wiper hole.
