Hey guys, i have a small bit of rust on the boot of my sir. i think its a bit too much though just to sandpaper out and touch up. any ideas? what would be the best thing to do? i dont want to leave it there too long, i have seen what it can do to civics :nerv:

If its just on the boot i reckon you should get the boot resprayed or even get a second hand boot in good condition. :D

Im having the rust problem at the moment to as the winter has been bad to my poor car :(( :((

I replaced the front wings as were starting to rust were the bumper meets the wing.

Just before winter i noticed to blisters on the back arches but over the winter with salty roads they have become considerable worse, my solution is to sand down using 180 grit pads and treat with rust treatment and spray then its not going to completely get rid of the rust as the only way ONLY Way is to sand blast it out.

carbon boot or take it to a painter, wont cost much to get the bootlid painted surely

o1anto - get that done professionaly after winter, can`t be that expensive for boot only.

btw. I have noticed on this forum that cars in UK get rusty much often then here in Croatia..to be honest none of EKs, mine or my friends ( aprox 20 that I know, 96-00) don`t have rust at all...and I don`t have garage, car is out all the time...

Because we use excessive amounts of salt on our roads from about november till febuary... That is the only reason our cars rust so fast, or because some of us are located right next to the sea which as we know, salt water = no no

It`s good thing that we don`t have enough money for salt here... :)
although we are in Mediterranean country with sea and long coast... :)
