Hej guys. I have to Change my clutch. Now It's a bit wired. Most of the People told me to put the houl engine out of the car.

My list to do:
- clutch change
- Timing belt (think this is the word in english)
- and some stuff in the gear box to do

what should i do?

Greetings from switzerland :) Maurice

To change the clutch, you most definitely do not need to take the engine out. You can get away with putting the car on stands and using trolley jacks to support the engine/box. You don't even need to remove the subframe, there really isn't that much to it. Getting the gearbox itself out isn't too bad if you have a friend to help you. It's not the longest job in the world, I hope you have a good set of tools because that really saves you a lot of time.

There's a guide on here on how to change your clutch.

Once you've got your gearbox out you can sort the problems (what problems are you having?). It's a great time to do a gearbox oil change, to change bushings etc.

Timing belt change is less involved, again having a friend on hand really helps when you're setting the tensioner.

There was a guide for that here (changing a cambelt on a B16B) but it's disappeared. I know there are countless ones on the net so just google it. Good luck!
