Hi guys, since iv'e owned the car (not very long) the ecu has been buzzing all the time ( whilst engine running) it doesn't effect drive and vtec engages correctly.. Should it be something to worry about??
Also the cars rev range, iv'e tried reading up and I keep reading different things,
My car engages vtec at 6100rpm and redlines at just shy of 9000rpm (I'd say 8995) this as far as I've read would indicate I have a different ecu/chip
The buzzing was getting on my nerves so I took the trim off to see if I could resolve the matter, it seems internal and the ecu to me looks standard although I don't want to take it out at all to avoid any more problems..
I took a picture on my phone..

What car and engine mate? That would help.

Rev range is correct for the b16b remember that the rev gauge is not 100% accurate. Some ecu's do buzz im unsure as to why but mine in my delsol used to for years right up untill i sold it with no issues.

Sorry not much help on the buzzing but your rev range is correct doubt its been chipped :nice:

okie doke cheers, i'll keep an ear out for the buzzing if it gets worse i'll update, thanks

Are you defo sure its the ecu and not a bracket, mount, trim around it? the dash and areas are notorious for buzzing/ vibrations,

Definitely the ecu, forgot I had this thread.. Iv'e narrowed the noise down to only when the heaters are on which is weird then as soon as I shut them off the vibration stops

Yeah can do mate thanks, I'ts not really bugging me to be honest I just don't use the heaters when it happens, it's only intermittant..
