my friend has an ej9, he has got a b18c4 to swap with his d14.

Now the b18 loom doesn't marry up to his ej bits n bobs.

So he'll need an ek4/9 loom?

And also replace his current ECU.

What ECU is he looking for?

OBD.....

Yea'll he needs the ek4 engine loom and can get a p28 obd1 ecu socketed and get a b18c4 basemap chip, will also need a jumper harness for this.
