Il be picking up a civic with a B18C4 in it within 2 weeks and just wanted to clear somthing up.

I have been told it has a dual stage intake :S not sure what that is but i wanted to put a skunk 2 pro intake on and apparetly i cant.

Is there anyway around this or what would i need to do so i could put a normal intake on ?

Any help would be appricated !

Cheers

Ben

the B18c4 is a dual runner intake, something to do with the different type of head on a C4,think it's a P72(serialnumber cast into head) and as such as far as i kno the inlet mani differs from the typeR-Skunk2 ones, ie:they don't fit one or other. I did hear that skunk2 made one for the C4 but i can't confirm this, maybe someone knows?

You can put a skunk2 pro intake on it (they make on for it, get the GSR one), you just take the old dual setup off.
What ECU setup are you going to run? This will take some low and mid range torque off, with a trade off up high. I hope that's how you like to drive it.

when installing any single plenum intake on a C1/C4 motor, the ecu MUST be remapped to take advantage of this modification.

Otherwise the VTEC will continue to activate too soon and will cause a huge hole in your powerband.

I would advise that you do not change the intake manifold, until you've got some ITR/CTR cams (with springs) at the very least and a way to remap the ECU or run an ITR ecu.

Nice one lads ! What i do then is hold of till i sorted a JDM Teg, new springs and cams. The il thin about replacing the intake.

Thanks again !
