Does a ek9 backbox fit a ej9?

First of all people I'd like to say hello to every1 here :)

I wounder if you can help me, I want to buy an exhaust for my ej9, iv seen 1 on eBay at the moment and it's off a ek9.. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think my exhaust flange is 2.25" and ek9 is 3"? But the guy told me it still will bolt on n if I use a good gasket or some exhaust paste it will be fine? I'm not sure on this 1 reli and could do with abit of help please? :)

EK9 is mostly 2.5" but gets smaller where the backbox joins.

If the backbox on eBay has original mounting points then it will fi your EJ9.
 
Sorry I'm only buying the back box so it should just fit then yea? :)
 
I wouldn't buy an oem ek9 back box unless you're looking to keep an oem look, they are heavy as hell!

So if your lookin for oem looks then your looking to retain the standard look of the exhaust.
 
Yeah that's fine. An exhaust can look standard but be a more free flowing aftermarket one at the same time, which is what was meant by oem looks.
