hi guys, i have been spraying the spoiler, the door handle and the bump strips of my car, somehow the color comes out a darker color?! and it looks more like the Ford Grey i sprayed my body kit and wheels. whats gone wrong?! pretty sure the paint i got is the correct color(pewter grey metallic), as i have been using the shop for mixed paint for a while now, is it sth to do with the color of primer?!

here is some pic to show the difference

any input would be helpful, thx

after you used the plastic primer, did you spray an ordinary grey primer over it as an undercoat!? if you didn't this is why the colour is darker

i didnt use plastic primer at all. just used normal grey primer from halfords. then top coat, then lacquer.

was the grey primer darker than the colour of the car and if so you mighten of used enough coats of paint

umm...thats interesting....
well, its just the normal grey color primer. i'd say its lighter than my actual color. if i spray it wiv white primer, would the color get lighter?!

it would as long as you dont put on to many coats but there is a good chance the paint code has a lighter shade available, my advice would be to get the paint changed for a lighter shade instead of using the white primer

oh yeah.......i forgot about that. i remember when i used to go to another shop to get my paint, they used to show me different shade of color under the same code.....thx for ur advice, think i better to pay them a visit then.
