Hi All,

Just would like to say thanks to Dixon for great pricing, customer service and comms while dealing with my recent order :D

I got FCR (Carbon) Slotted Front Rotors, Plain Rear Rotors and Type Z Pads (F&R).

Had them fitted today and while I've yet to bed them in even from the first drive the difference from stock is noticeable :)

I'll post again once they're bedded in and I've taken the car on track again next week so I can compare them with the stock setup, but in the meantime here are some pics :)

Guess I'd better go and clean the wheels now eh? :p

Hi All,

Yesterday evening I took the car on track at Snetterton again (Snetterton Race Circuit - The Official Snetterton Motorsport Site for those who don't know where it is or how it's laid out), only 3x20 minute sessions but it gave me the chance to compare the new Dixcel discs and pads against the OEM parts I used last time out.

Since they'd been fitted, I'd bedded them in a bit with some moderate to hard braking on the dual carriageway (highway) and to be honest they didn't feel much different afterwards but I figured that getting some heat cycles in them before the track abuse would be a good idea :)

Firstly, my experience of the OEM parts on the last trackday were by no means bad - I experienced no fade and braking performance was quite good, considering Snett is a fast circuit with several hard braking areas. The OEM pads did generate a lot of dust over the course of the day though.

So - how does the Dixcel kit compare?

Discs - braking performance is definitely improved, no warping of course, and a clear decrease in braking distance :nice:

Pads - seemed to take a warm-up lap to come up to temperature, after which the pedal travel and feel tightened up, and then are excellent :) with consistent rock solid pedal feel, and they seem to take everything in their stride. Absolutely no fade or 'hot' smell and they generated less dust than OEM pads after the equivalent number of sessions.

In summary I'd definitely recommend the Dixcel FCR Carbon discs and Type Z pads for trackday use, and Dixon is great to do business with so thumbs up to him :)

I'm going for another open pit lane trackday at Snett next month so will keep you updated on how the parts wear.

Cheers,
Alex
