hi guys just booked brands hatch taster session ,

now my car has

spoon mani
spoon b pipe
spoon rep back box (meant to be quitter)
itg maxogen intake (not loud)

the db limit is 102 do you think I will be ok?

car does seem very loud compared to other cars I have owned :naughty:

If your local I'm sure can get sound checked for free. Just pop down there one evening.

yeah i am local thing is i have booked the taster session for tonight so i will find out later was just trying to get an idea if the car should pass/fail lol

Hope all goes well. Let us know if you go again as I'm wanting to do a session too.

You'll get in fine,
Matt ek9 has mugen mani spoon b-pipe and spoon n1. He still has stock cat and it runs 98db at brands every time

Last time I went I had Tegiwa Manifold, Spoon B-pipe and N1 silencer with EK9 cat. The car was fine, no issues. I'm back again on Monday, now with a resonated decat. I still think I'll be ok. It's more the flyby noise tests that I'm worried about though.

Yeah I'm here guys had the test 98 db lol pretty excited loads skylines here cataram Volvo estate

well my taster session was epic , wasn't overtaken and managed to past several r33 gtr skylines , i honestly thought i would end up being passed by most people however the ek9 ended up showing them all up was really good fun

At what revs do they ask you to hold it for the test?

They ask your redline usually, I think Matt holds 6k. I've got launch control and it only revs to 4.5k

Ek9's are really good at brands. Straights aren't long enough to show up the low power and they get round the corners well.
Will you be doing more track days from now?
I'll let you know when I'm at brands next, maybe you can make it in yours

yeah that would be awesome give me a pm when your going, i haven't done a full track day yet, this was only my second taster session.

how do you find track days?
i get the feeling that the taster session puts immense pressure on any car and thats only 20mins.

it was awesome passing the skylines and various other cars on track.

yeah will definitely be doing more was brilliant was going to purchase another session but my mates had to go

I love the track days!
They do put a fair bit of stress on some components but they'd have to be in pretty poor condition to break anything.
Open pit lane track days are a lot better. I usually stick to about 10-15min sessions then pull in for 15mins. Usually the tyres are past there best by then and the engines getting abit warm. Just keeps the temps and pressures down.

Hoping to get to brands again within the year, probably October but I'll let you know.

Me too. I'm from swanley about 3miles from the track

You will get noise tested and think "not one **** was given"
