Im sure this has been covered before but here goes...:naughty:

I currently have a password JDM kevlar intake, it sounds and looks simply amazing, but i would like to try something else, i know the mugen induction kit is the dogs doo daaas, in terms of power gains, but its mighty pricy!!! how much difference would there be in gains between a mugen intake on a stock B16a2 and a DC2 intake with a decent filter, covered in heat wrap and a good cold air feed to the bumper??

as if there isnt a vast amount of diffrence i may just get a DC2 box for £80 rather than paying £350+ just for 1 or 2 more BHP! and to save a but of dolla!

Also which DC2 filter is best? is spoon the daddy? or are you just paying for a name?

Many thanks! and sorry if its a repost

Alex:))

I had the itr intake on my crx i-vt and with just that and dc sports header and straight through exhaust with a n1 muffler it made 180cv on the dyno without any tuning. So from my experience the itr intake is a very good mod for the money.

Someone will be along soon to clarify but the DC2 airbox has a similar design to the Mugen box. DC2 airbox won't sound as good but it gives phenomenal bang for your buck. The Mugen airbox sounds awesome, looks awesome but is expensive but it will be better than a DC2 airbox and sound better. If you go for a Mugen one, possibly best of getting the Tegiwa replica for £285 brand new instead of paying £300+ for a used Mugen one.

Just fitted a Mugen replica/Tegiwa style one, all i can say is, save your money now and buy one of these! Sounds awesome! and it works, proven by many now! At the end of the day your paying for the Mooooogen name.

What is the fit like on the Tegiwa one? it's for a DC2 but it's meant to be relatively straight forward non? also get a video up, be nice to see and hear the Tegiwa airbox in action :nice:

Its tight with the coolant bottle, gonna look at relocating the bottle. Fairly simple install, couldn't get the mounting holes on the box to lineup on the ek9 chassis, BUT its tight in place with no movement, plus it has the top mount bracket holding it.

Its made for the DC2 so the holes wont line up, but its easy enough to drill/tap a new hole.

yeh i understand that, thats why i said i couldnt get it to line up with them, i dont see the need to drill and tap a hole for the bracket as its fixed in place enough with the top bracket.
