Dc2 Ballast Problem

Hey , Just looking for some help here.

My Buddy has a 96 Spec Dc2. That Had dc1 Lights fitted since it was in Japan.

He Bought 98 Spec Type R lights, But the ballasts dont work...after being told they did, but it has been 3 months between he bought them and finally fitted so not much can be done.

iv Priced ballasts...450£,,They can stay there for that money lol.

Iv been told HID Ballasts from any Modern car that has HIDS Standard would work?

I know we can get adapters and Run A/M ballasts but would prefer some what abit more orignal if possible.

The ballast is not working because it's not plug and play into 96 loom. I chopped the ballast connector and hardwired it into the 96 loom. Get your mate to get an electrician to look at it as the soldering needs to be spot on.
Upgrade the fuses for each headlight to 20 amp

Really...we were told It would be straight swap..would make sense that it isnt straight swap tho.

Im an electrican myself but dont solder or do work on cars myself...Pay People that know what there at to do it.

Il get one of the lads to take a look.
