So I've got together a list of what I seemingly need to even consider running boost on a newly-acquired D16Z6.. But then there's others claiming I can do it with near-stock internals. Does anyone have any experience with this particular set up?

Here's the list so far:

T3 super 60 turbo -

Cast iron exhaust manifold

3 inch down pipe and exhaust

Oil feed and return lines

Intercooler with piping

Blow off valve

35mm/38mm Wastegate

Vacuum line

Obd 0,1,2? conversion harness

3 bar map sensor

S300 Hondata (with USB and laptop) and spare ecu

RC 550 injectors

Bkr7e heat range NGK spark plugs

Walbro 255lph fuel pump

Suzuki Vitara low compression factory cast pistons (.020 or .040 over bore)

Eagle forged H-Beam rods

Complete engine gasket kit (with multi layered metal head gasket, not graphite)

New water pump and timing belt

Rod bearings and main bearings

Boost controller

Clutch and lightweight flywheel

Anythin' that shouldn't be on there, and is, tell me. And anything that should be on there and isn't, tell me that too.. Haha. I'm basically just trying to get it boosted ASAP, It'll be a constant build so I basically just want to know what the minimum I can do before the turbo is. Reckon I should at least pass the 200Bhp mark with a good map and all the above though.

Seemingly it can be run on stock internal with just injectors.. Doesn't sound right to me though?

Stock internals can take boost.
I don't recall them going past 200whp very often though.
10psi on stock internals max.
For the amount your gonna spend on Vitara's you might as well spend the extra $100-200 on forged.
Then the rods become the weak point.

Also rec Neptune over Hondata, but that's personal pref.

I could totally have my figures wrong like, just a ballpark figure I'd seen flying about. Haha
I've never actually heard of Neptune? Why the preference?

My old eg z6 t28 turbo'd made 244bhp on stock block, tuned on Ectune at 10psi.

Don't worrie about psi this and psi that, every different turbo on the planet will supply a larger or smaller amount, 10psi from a t3 will be very different from 10psi from a t4 etc. don't mess arourd with the stock map sensor get a decent 2 bar item as boost is very addictive. Also you may want to re think the rods as I don't think eagle makes them the right length anymore, I think it's a company called fjt if you want to use them with the vitaras. I have seen 500hp on stock vitaras so I would not bother with anything else, save your money for the tuning as its without doubt the biggest and most important part in the puzzle, **** tune and you will ruin all the work you put in so be patient.

My jdm D15B made 247 wheel hp @11psi on stock internals running a t3/4 turbo

That's handy to know actually, thanks man. It does look like tuning is gonna be the most expensive area too. £500-600 for the map alone. :(

when we say it holds a certain amount of boost with stock internals this says nothing if we don't mention the amount of time-use.

See that put a smile on my face. Haha. What else had you done?

450cc injectors, skunk2 inlet and 70mm tb, 3 inch turbo back exhaust.

my old z6 stock internals made 244bhp at 10psi but it lasted a month or so, threw a bearing.

Most people over look the reliability of owning a boosted honda.
