D16a9 oil and head gasket issue

Recently bought a 1990 mk2 crx zc with a d16a9 from a mk1 crx, due to its original engine blowing the head gasket, when a bought the car the previous owner told me to change the oil every 2k to avoid the head gasket going on this engine, although its an older engine this seems like a very short period of time between oil and filter changes... Currently running 15w40 castol edge part synthetic in it, i do have plans to b swap the car but not for a while yet.. Anyone any ideas of what ma be the reason for having to do the oil so frequently to avoid the head gasket going? Whats the best oil to use with the d16a9

I cant find a head gasket for this engine anywhere so i dont want to leave it to chance either

Keep an eye on the coolant level, make sure it doesn't overheat, change the oil every 5k and allow it to heat up before wellying it and you'll be sounds

Coolant, oil and filter are getting drained and changed at jays at when iv got ma new filter and coolant in, gna check the oil for any metal shavings or signs of wear, cara only done about 16-1700 miles scince its last oil and filter
