CTR cams , identifying it from pre-machined grooves

I've heard that some deliberately had it machined to have two grooves on the end of the cams. Is there other way to identify if it's original CTR cams or not?

This is the only way to be 100% sure they are type r cams unless you buy them direct from Honda

No it's not ,ek9 cams have a dual ring pattern machined into the ends of the camshafts to denote them as PCT type R cams ,search mate there pictures
