crail raceway 17th


well, im gonna be there from early doors guys, and get 2 or 3 runs in before it starts to get busy, just to see what my 9 can do in bone stock form and full interior.

i aint interested in racing all day as i need the tyres everyday, but come n say hi anyone if you see me sitting about or whatever.

2000 ek9, white car & white volks. Martins my name, be good to meet new faces
 
ye thats the same as me going down early get some runs in cos i think its going to be really busy every one i know is going. so there will prob be about 500 people on the track.

yes it will be good to meet new people from here
 
Im thinking for Banzai Crail in April we should get a Ek9.Org Stand !!! - I will email Willie Robertson ( owner of crail ) and see what he says - providing we get enough numbers.. Anyone else fancy that ??

Yeah it would be good !! - Mine might have toleave the stand at some point to get its first quater run in 8 months !!! haha.

Yeah crail was good yesterday, bit cold but atleast it was dry huh.

At the moment its not. Got everything sitting waiting to go . . . but I need to wait on this balls up with the insurance company to rectify itself before she can be finished :( wont be long tho, cant wait!!

Im thinking im gonna have to up the anty if I wanna chance you down the 1/4 . . . . stage 3's perhaps :D

If we got mine, yours, and your m8 John's we would have a white, black and silver for the stand. There is a yellow kicks about town but don't know the owner ..... but if we got all 4 standard colours of EK9 on a stand would look the dogs!!

Im thinking Skunk2 stage 3's, full skunk2 vlavetrain upgrade, new ECU and remap. If I can afford it walbro fuel pump.

I dont know where to go after that ....

Im a wee bit clueless when it comes to high compression stuff compared to normal and what the benefits are of port and polish etc . . . because alot of people seem to have it done and would like to know what difference it makes. And also I know engine dampers and stuff are important but its what to do after the cams etc ..... flywheel, clutch . . . what should be next?

Anyone any thoughts? Haribo . . . help a brother out haha
 
Just got my new stoptech front and rear discs & project MU pads!! :D

Gonna get them on when I get the time to fit them

If you go to stage 3s then really you need a higher compression bottom end to utilise it. Hondata S300 is a superb system, other big well reccomended EMSs are AEM-EMS, and MoTeC. take your pic.

As for fuel pump, if your not running more than 300-320hp then it really isnt needed!

After vavletrai upgrade and refurb (i.e. all new guides, seals, orings and dowels) you should look towards building a block for high compression at 1.8l. fully built 1.8 engines on race fuel can produce 300hp at the crank reliably!
it all depends how much you want to spend!
 
Lol Stage 3s !! - You one crazy guy !! - Driveablility will be absolutly impossible around town m8.. Lol I looked into stage 3s, no chance haha !!! - they move the power band so high up the revs low down power is affected greatly !!

If you want a quick quater mile car m8 I would concentrate on gearing first - Im kinda regretting keeping mine N/A in a way. I could got ALOT more power for ALOT less money with a turbo set-up..
 
yeh i would be up for that too!!

just started buying the internals for my turbo will take ages be a ****ing greenkeeper as you would know andy

Well I spoke to a m8 of mine Yumen (Yum yum turbo - orange dc2 turbo with carbon goodies if you know him) and he says when he had his stage 3's on it idled perfectly and was fine for day to day. So im getting mixed feedback on it and he has actually done it - maybe should post a thread bout it coz ive heard that as well dude .....

Im gonna keep it n/a tho lyk!!
 
Nice one !! - Well mayb stage 3s would be ok m8. Im just keeping stage IIs coz I have another trick up my sleeve !! lol.

Hell might even build a k20 turbo and dump it in the ek9 !! haha now that would be fun !!
 
in reply to page one i was one of the guys maintaining that crazy micra ive been round knockhill etc in it and words cannot describe how fast it was, sadly it spun out at about 100mph, dave, the owner had a tough time getting over it and he has put the engine with some more goodies into an almera gti shell, approx 500bhp, but the last i know as its going up for sale the minute its finished..

Well my car is staying n/a and 1.8 - the rest is a mystery !! You will see in april m8 !! lol
