So bought a carbon bootlid off brady-dc2 and it arrived via the infamous Yodel. my heart sank when the van arrived outside my house. Then once again they surpass their reputation and delivered my something that looked like it been flung into and out of a van for fun. On the other hand the packaging was baws and there was a lack of protection on the product in subject.

That is most of the damage, i don't even want to look at that anymore. So the question in hand is Does anyone know anyone in Scotland that can repair carbon fibre? I was thinking getting carbon cloth etc from 'carbon mods' and taking it to a body shop to replace, i don't really want to send it back for a refund due to further damage and most likely lose out on courier funds.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

is the courier at fault here or was it sent like that? packaging seems very light for such a fragile item, i sent a carbon spoiler last week to England and the wrapping alone added over 2kgs in weight as i didnt want it to get damaged. the thing with carbon is, the whole boot will have to be re-done, you cant just stick abit on as it wont look right

I' m not sure to who to blame at this point, the wrapping was 1 layer of bubble wrap and that black wrapping film, if it were me it would definitely be wrapped in many layers with a custom made carboard surround like all my things. The courier 'yodel' always wrecks my things last time they hid stuff in my recycling bin and it was burst! So my pallet of liquids went to waste. Definitely not happy at all

Tbh, i'd say the packaging wasn't substantial enough. I'd talk to the seller.

i no its not much good now mate, but in future id recommend parcelforce, i use them all the time and have had no problems with them, they arent expensive either. to me, the seller is to blame to an extent, im sure you payed a good few £'s to get this as they come up often and it should of been wrapped properly imo, for all bubble wrap costs.. the day you bought this was the day i just had the money to pay for it.

No i singed then ask to wait as i always do, but i was in a rush for football

really should have checked it first mate before signing then you could blame the company but i dont THINK you can once you have signed

once its signed for, your saying you've received and checked it so thats it im afraid mate as far as it goes for the courier.. you may now get a quote to fix it then take it from there, maybe brady might help towards the repair but then again, if it was perfect when it was collected he will say the courier is at fault.

i would take it up with the seller as well. i know hes is pretty popular on this forum and has sold a lot of items with good feedback but he should know not to send a carbon fibre boot through the country in transit with just a sheet of bubble wrap to protect it

That's not good enough packaging for a carbon bootlid at all. As mentioned I've sent large items ie bonnets and cover them in bubble wrap then put inside a sturdy box.

Parcel force is the only courier I use if possible. I've had servicing kits lost by city link and apparently it was signed for. Proof of signature was a line across the box.

Yeah i'll arrange my own courier next time and request extra packaging!
As for now i await brady to reply and hopefully find someone that can fix my problem with some new weaving

Cardboard surround needed to be added like you said . For something as obvious as this I'd have been pretty angry as it could easily have been avoided . I wouldn't be trying to get it fixed tbh the cost I'd imagine would outweigh what you've already spent on it .

Gutted for you lad,As said by others the packing is not up to the job for something like that, and yodel are cowboys ive had few things trashed by them same goes about TNT totally trash my bonnet that got delivered,id be contacting seller as the packing should of been alot more protective.

Gutted for you bud. After you were talking about on Monday night to

Yeah, came to the conclusion all could have been avoided if the packaging was reasonable. Just going to ask for a refund and hopefully he understands. I'll at least package it appropiately to send back across the sea

Yeah was really looking forward to machine polishing this to a perfect finish. Hopefully get my money back and just put the money towards perfect handling for track or just put it away somewhere haha

Sorry to see that, what a waste of a carbon boot.

As said before, shouldn't sign for a package unless you have inspected it and happy. Hope you get it sorted soon buddy

Well to be honest my dad answere the door and signed and i went out to open the garage and check the package. I really didnt think the packaging would be so light to be honest and don't want to blame the old man haha. Just hopefully get this sorted and done with.

Definatly the sellers responsibility, wen I pack items like this it takes at least a half hour just to go round all the edges and corners with either foam or folded cardboard and that's after wrapping if in a few layers of bubble wrap first, then it's boxed and taped up with fragile tape, if he has a good rep then he will take responsibility
