As above I was taking the engine out the other day and this accidentally got knocked off. I'm not sure what it is, does anyone know please

I believe its a air intake temp sensor. Either way I broke mine to, so I unplugged it and removed the sensor from the intake, and it didn't affect how the car idled or drove. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Ya sure it's ok to run it without it?
 
Yup definitely. Mine ran without it for a good 4000 miles with no problems before I changed to a type r inlet mani.
 
I've ran without it too, but make sure to plug the inlet on the intake manifold.
 
Its the evap purge solenoid, don't need it, all it does is purge the vapour inside the intake mani when you shut the engine off.
