Hi there I'm changing the engine in my 1.4 96 ek to a vti b16a2, I have both cars complete I'm just wondering if any1 knows wether ill need to change the dash wiring loom and also wether ill need the key and transponder out out the vti to get it to run?? Thanks

Hi i think u will have to with the 1.4 as it aint vtec. Use th loom from the vti u hav along with engine loom and u will be fine.

Wel this is wot I was thinking because mines a non vtec, just realy didn't wna have the dashbourd out, but if iv got to then is rather no b4 I start outing the engine back in, does anyone no ov any1 doing a similar conversion?? Thanks

Hi, you should also consider whether you trade your castles and possibly the immobilizer module.
Is actually lighter than the chip in the ECU needed to be replaced.

If the whole stupid reading is translated with google translate. is still too early in the morning;)

I'm sorry mate I'm a noob to the honda world don't realy understand wot u mean?

yes i done this to my eg3 a few years ago. u dont have to remove the dash, just remove the loom from ur vti then remove ur loom from the 1.4. start puting the vti loom in from the fuel pump then work ur way to the dash and u will see where the plugs go. then plug ur new loom into the ecu and follow it through into the engine bay,the loom will split into 2 and there will be 2 or 3 big plugs on the struts on each side. plug them into the vti engine loom which you have fitted on the engine and u are good to go. there may be a few extra wires for knock sensor etc on ur car but this is easy done by finding the correct pin on the ecu. hope it goes well

Did this a few years back change the loom, ecu, and the transponder you can change the whole steering colum or swap the chips from you vti to your 1.4 key that means you won't have one key to get in and one to start the chip is located under the rubber on the key. Hope this helps
