Confused With Insurance Companies In Ireland

Hey lads, Im just after getting a few insurance quotes online for an Ek9 and i have got a very good one that id be happy enough to pay. After that i was just seeing what else i could get insured on and im very confused. I got a few cheaper quotes for newer, way more expensive, much higher powered cars. One being a 2009 Focus RS 2.5T with 300 Bhp worth 37,500 Euro. To me this doesnt make any sense. Im 25, full licence, 5 years No Claims Bonus. So the price of the insurance is pretty good on the Ek9. But why is it that they will insure me cheaper on an RS with 300 Bhp than on an Ek9 with 185 Bhp? Why do they have such a problem with Jap imports?
 
I know civics are an easy target for thieves, thats fair enough. Any car can be stolen if thieves want it bad enough. But what do you mean by imports? In my opinion, jap imports are far more reliable than anything else so i wouldnt have thought that would have come into it?
 
imports are generally high performance cars they also load them because it takes business away from the cars they want people buying,run of the mill sheds from main dealers.there are also more imports being crashed,stolen etc because of what they are...the exact car youre trying to insure falls in this bracket
 
Yeah i suppose what your saying about them putting the insurance up on imports because they want people buying cars from main dealers etc is true. Cheers man.
