Hi guys - I have noticed a type of clunking noise when I press and release the clutch, mainly in 1st and 2nd gears it is more noticeable.

I took a brief look at it earlier when it was stationary, engine switched off, 1st gear selected with handbrake off and rocked the car forward and backward and the clunking noise sounds like it is coming from the bottom left of the engine bay, clutch/gearbox area!! I also tested the clutch with handbrake on and that doesn't slip in any way.

There does seem to be some play in the engine movement so I think maybe the back engine mount has gone.

Any ideas......engine mounts, clutch, gearbox??????? Help..! :(

start with the mount first and eliminate that...

sounds like its on the way out so you might aswell replace it:nice:

Cheers guys - Any idea as to how much do mounts cost these days never replaced or priced one up! A standard Honda one will suite me as I only use her for road. I'll take a look around anyhow and get some prices. :)

Any more suggestions out there for me on this problem so I can a picture of potential costs etc, cheers! :)
