Clicking noise on inner CV joint

i need to replace my EG inner CV joint as it is clicking badly. so today i took the drive shaft off another civic, when it was still attached onto the tranny, i could hear clicking noise by turning the shaft.
Took it off, the clicking noise disappear?! There wasnt any play in the CV joint(both outer and inner). All the gaiters look good to me, and there was more than enough grease in the CV joint. So is it normal that the shaft click when its on the tranny?! I found another shaft, 100% good working order from a local scrap yard, even tho they aint charging me much, i dun really fancy paying it b4 i can justify the one i got is bad as well.

i planned to replace the Eg drive shaft with my Del sol one. Both my EG and my del sol has the clicking noise. but as i said in my last post, the drive shaft out of the Del Sol looked fine and doesnt click when its off the car.
