civic ej9 b18 project. Paint update

this build is looking sa'weet. Are you going to paint it in a paint booth?

Thanks mate, its not a proper oven booth but its a local body shop has ventilation and heating. My mates painted there before and the finish has been good! Won't be as good as a proper oven but should still look good!

Friday night me and my friend who's painting the car did a late one and got the car painted. Pictures speak a thousand words!

Test fitted the colour coded front splitter, the splitter had a crack that we have repaired but it hasn't come out brilliant with the paint so will be replaced at some point.

There's a couple of runs and bits of dust but they should go when we rub it back and buff it next weekend, the only unfortunate thing that happened was when matt was painting a wing mirror some paint must have dribbled down the side of the gun when filling and as he sprayed the mirror it flicked off and landed in the middle of the bonnet, so unfortunately the bonnet will have to be reprinted. To say we had limited space and the facility was not perfect I'm happy with the finish.

impressed with the job mate, looks stunning :nice:

cant wait to see this in flesh

This build is just getting better and better. Don't worry about the little imperfections in the paint, I'm sure you will get the paintwork blocked and buffed to perfection just like your build.

Keep those updates coming.
:nice:

Thanks a lot guys going to get it on ramp tonight at work and try get some more done! Itching to start using it again!

Got the front end build up today after work:

Iv been in 2 minds about the fog lights since iv started to build up the car but I think they look subtle with the colour coded surrounds and finish off the front end.

Next on the agenda is to re-bush and fit the rear disc setup, then 4wheel alignment.

Tonight I got the rear trailing arms stripped of brakes and rebushed them!

Firstly was to remove the bushes, messy old job!

The centre pin still had loads of rubber on it that was been a pain to get off and I was losing my patience so I resorted to fire and it worked a treat!

Then I gave them a quick clean on wire wheel.

Then was to press the new bush in which is really easy but I could of done with another set of hands and juggling everything can be a pain but I got them in.

Getting there going to put a good shift in over the bank Holliday weekend, should be working on car everyday, except Sunday as I'm making a trip to Birmingham to pick up a engine for my mates mx5.

looking smart :)

how long till its back on road?

I'm hoping next week mussy, going to pout a shift in mover weekend. Only thing I can't do is the bumper won't go in with the rear lip and where the exhaust is so ill bob down to a exhaust place n ring road see if the can modify it for me. If not ill be searching for a new exhaust lol

the car looks fab was never a fan of silver, but now after this i would defo buy one:)

Bank holiday today so work was shut so used the free ramp time to get a few bits done on the civic, rear disc on and rear suspension, larger master cylinder and servo. Also test fitted the spoiler.

Also the dc sports exhaust on the car wasn't meant for a car with a lip or a rear arb so I bought a skunk2megapower off eBay:

Not driven it a load but loving the extra torque, I bought the engine knowing it was a little smokey but seems to be a little worse now possibly because the engine has been in Months now. The only journeys its done has been in and out of garage 6days a week, But I'll use it this month until I go away then go to japfest 2 init. If its no better ill stripped head off and do stem seals and rings!

Will try borrow a decent camera as all I have is my iPhone!
