Civic 1.7cdti???

Has anyone ever owned or driven one of these?

I need an economical daily driver again, and I dont fancy getting another VAG, so I'm heading to look at an 05 reg civic cdti at the weekend.

The reviews I've read online about them seem ok. The only thing that bothers me is that the engine is not made by Honda Its actually made by Isuzu and also used in the vauxhall astra

Correct about the isuzu/GM crack. A bloke i know has one and loves it, not a slouch but not quick by any means. Worked on many of these motors in Gm's vehicles, astras etc. they are prone for injector and turbo faults at high milage but then again most diesels are.

Id choose a VAG derv over one any day though and i hate Vags, but there diesels are far better than most.

The dude you know with one...has he had any issues with injectors or turbo faults?
Dyou know why Honda choose to use the isuzu/GM engine instead of a honda unit? Found it really strange.
If I get one I was planning to remap it with the EGR delete mod.

I've been looKING AT vags, and the only one that fits the bill is the fabia vrs (which I did have previously...but its too small for what I need).
