Chassis number help.

Hi all,

I need some help to try and work out what my EK9 is

Its a 2000 W reg. The chassis number begins 12 which according to the register points at it being an RX. However it has none of the RX extras and didnt even come with Type R trim like Recaros,matching rear seat, black plastics but came with "racebase" style interior eg grey seats, grey door cards, no leather gear gator etc. It has no ABS but has wind up windows, manual mirrors, the thinner front and rear crash bars, no air bags. It does have air con and power steering though.

My question is was there a delete spec option on the RX?

Yeah mate they done a race base version with no recaros, abs, electric windows etc to save weight


Your car must be a race base man but not heard of an rx race base, would be kind of pointless as well as the rx has some small extra add on's where as the race base is trying to be as light as possible.

Yes thats exactly my point. Why would someone buy an RX but then specify it to be a racebase effictively removing all the bits that makes it an RX even down to the carbon centre piece.
Is it a case of the original buyer wanted a racebase but because its such a late car (2000) only RX's were available?
Has anyone else got or seen a 2000 or RX racebase?

iv got a racebase EK9 built date 9/2000 and vin starting with 120xxxxx
Has grey interior, windup windows, no abs, airbags, no recaros, grey carpets no carbon bits but still has p/s and a/c
