One of my air vents has came loose in the centre section of my dash(facelift) and I can't seem to be able to remove the console to get it fixed, I don't want to force it and break it, any ideas on how to remove it?

you need to pop out the hazard button and rear window heater buttons, screws under there, also the console around the gear stick, theres screws from underneath..
tedios job but take ur time and its no bother:nice:

Is it the RX dash? ie one with twisty knobs and double din?

I've been having a problem with my wiring for my head unit and all I've been doing is kinda ripping it out.. I put my fingers on the right hand side and push it towards the left and kinda pull it out with my fingers dug in.. I'm sure there are screws that suppose to hold it in but I never screwed it in when I put my dash back in together.

If there isn't any screws then it's just clips that hold it in. mind to take off the wee clip in the middle for the vents. the slidey up and down thing. can't find the word to describe it at the moment. hope someone else can enlighten

Yeah I think it's the same as the RX

Didnt realise there was screws behind the hazard switch, cheers, the console was never put in right anyway so it's best to take it all out and fix it once and for all.

I never unscrewed the hazards? Actually, if there are screws holding it on, it could be under the ash tray. meaning you would have to take glove box and kick panel off to get into the screws to remove the ash tray.

to get an rx dash out properly there are two recessed screws at the top corners of the dash behind the switches. there are also several screws on the bottom underneath the cover of the kick panel and the glove compartment thingy. the dash should then pop out and then unclip a few plugs to release it.

is a very annnoying job ZZzzzZZzz

ive got to change my headunit over tongiht or tomorrow. not looking forward to it

I never had to remove the hazzards or any buttons.

Just remove the sterio and cage and there should see the screws and bolts at the top and bottom corners of the frame. It should then just pop (with a bit of force)

Obviously there is a few plugs to disconnect.

I can't even seem to get the CD player out, do I need keys? The stereo face doesn't come off so it's hard to put a screwdriver in and force it incase I break the face of it, ill try looking for screws though

use the search tool on here.

you need to remove the underneath panels from underneath the steering wheels, under neath the glovebox.. then they reveal the screws to remove the WHOLE centre console.

seriously use the search tool, its all on here bud :) is a pain tho !

Just to update this thread, I managed to remove the console, there is screws in the glovebox, and beside the steering column, you need to take off the trim around the gear stick too, there is alot of screws but it's by no means a hard job, just time consuming, but I managed to fix my heater and my dash is back in sitting flush, well worth the time and effort.
