Catback exhaust

I have stock backbo and i want to get 1 that has a nice little rasp off it . Everyone i ask tells me to get a catback but i wanted a twin loop. What exactly is a catback ?? And witch is best for my b16a2??

A catback is basically the backbox and the centre section.
Basically anything from after the cat-back
So that's why it's called a cat back.
I also have one for sale ATM.

So its just one pice from the cat to the backbox yea?? Pm me with details of the exhaust . What about twin loop backbox??

Some systems come in 2peice or even 3 I think.
But a catback replaces everything after the cat.
I think mines a 3piece system. I've never had it off. I'll try and find a picture for you.
Twin loop is a back box designed by mugen.

I see , yea sounds good. Iv heard that twin loop restrict the flow and doesnt work as well as a catback ??

That's been debated a few times on here, im on the its restrictive side myself.
Plus what you'd pay for a mugen back box you'd be better of getting a catback like mine or similar.
Depends what you want from your exhaust?
Do you like it loud? So you want decent power increase, or do you want something that looks good?
Depends what your after.


Nah not off the car yet, should be this week.
What's your price range? I might be able to help you out to shift the exhaust quickly?

a twin loop by design is restrictive..

An exhaust comprises of:

A header - The 4 pieces that come from the cylinders on the engine and join each other then go under the engine this joins to the -
A cat or Decat - This is normally 12" or something like that. its is either a catalytic converter or a decat which is a straight piece of pipe to replace the catalytic converter. this joins to the -
centre section/s - This is the piece of pipe that winds its way under the car to the rear axle. sometimes 1 piece sometimes 2.. Commonly known as a B pipe. this joins to the -
Back box / Muffler. - This is the big chamber for silencing that has the exhaust tip coming from it that you see from the back of the car.

The twinloop you are refering to is a backbox, but can also be bought with a B pipe.

Normally a Cat back exhaust comprises of a centre section or sections and a back box.

in order

Header > Cat/Decat > Centre section / B pipe > Back box / Muffler

Thanks topher great help as useal. Nice and simple ... Jesse iv about 150 left over wen i get paid but you probly not interested in that. Il save a few quid and hit ye back nd if you stil have it great if not no matter.. I want more power but not to loud ???

Yeah that's no worries mate.
As you say 150 too low for me, fire me a pm once you've saved up some funds if I've still got it.
This exhaust is great for power increase, does make a noise with the decat tho.

you cant get nere enuf the same exhaust of ebay for £139 and before anyone says they fall aprt or are crap ive used one on my pro spec drift car 400bhp for 3 years and not one problem
