im fairly sure this specific question has not been answered before but apologies if it has.

considering a bit of a small project on an ek4 sir over the next couple months which i plan to fit cams and some other small bits.

ok the existing performance mods are
ngk r blue ht leads
ik20 iridium plugs
5zigen exhaust manifold
decat
apexi n1 catback
intake will either be stock with cai or else mugen air box.

my plans are to fit skunk2 tuner stage 1 cams and adj.cam gears,so my questions are are those breathing mods good enough to support these.
the specs are inlet 264deg 11.9 lift and exhaust 259deg 11.0 lift which is considerably more than type r cams which is why i chose these.

will an apexi neo be sufficient to tune these with?i know its not a good way but dont really want to spend on ecu plus full map which will cost like 700 easily.will fuel pressure have to be altered much and if so will regulator do me or do i need a better pump also?
standard compression be ok with these?

my goals are about 185bhp at the flywheel.

i dont want to go mad building the engine as cars are worthless these days so i dont want to lose my balls on this.
thanks for any input.

it would help to know what engine you are planning to use with these parts.

apexi neo will not get the job done. You should be using a programmable ECU not just a piggy back micro adjusting solution like apexi neo.

The neo would be ok since you didn't mention having an upgraded fuel system. They can only "cheat" the sensor signals on open-loop phases of the engine (higher rev ranges), which is ok on a mildly modified engine. stock fuel system should be sufficient anyway for 185hp @ crank

But having total control of everything thru chipping (Crome Hondata etc.) would of course be better, specially in the low - mid ranges where closed loop could be turned off by the chipped ECU :)
