Camshaft degree/ setting?

Can anyone shed some light on this? As example my car is equip with JDM b16a and have type r cam (b16b) install, so what is the setting be? Thanks in advance!:nice:
 
retarding the cam gears gives more top end power at the expense of low end grunt

advancing gives more low end/midrange at the expense of top end.

Is that's mean both the cam gears be retard or advance in the same time in the same degree of each other? Thanks:nice: (beginner in engine tuning):((
 
DOHC has the ability to retard/advance separately to create a certain desired powerband - oily ek9 made a good point. If you do NOT know what the limit is for valve to valve contact, be aware that they may hit.

we've had decent success with settings like +2 intake and -1 exhaust..but it really varies between motors and ecu remapping overall. Cam gears are usually adjusted last after the AFR is safely tuned and monitored on the dyno and then cleaned up once more once the desired powerband (via cam gears) is achieved.
 
iv got ek9 cams in my b16a2 the cam settings as std are the same on both engines of course there is finer tunning but i would leave that job down to the pro's to do. my car runs very well on std set up

The engine is running smooth enough (idling), but i notice the power gain is only when vtec engage and it feel abit rough? At some point of lower rev the B16A cam perform better...:nono:
 
You need a re-map ;) to better use work on those new cams.

Fitted spoon ecu and Jsracing 4-2-1 header, the engine run smoother all the way to red line (9000rpm), better torque on the lower rpm and the result is very satisfied.:nice: Thanks for all the idea!:bow:
